Product overview
A 14-foot (4.2-meter radius/diameter depending on spec) cast net is a large, heavy-duty fishing tool designated to cover a wide area of water to trap baitfish, shrimp, and small fish. Key Specifications Size/Coverage: 14 feet (4.2 meters) across when fully open, allowing for maximum water coverage per throw.
Throwing Technique: Because a 14-foot net is very large and heavy, most anglers must "split" or fold the net over their arm or shoulder rather than holding it all in one hand.
Where it is used
- Material: Typically made from durable nylon monofilament or high-strength netting twine with a secure hand rope (often around 10 to 15 meters long).
- Sinkers: Weighted with heavy steel or lead sinkers along the bottom perimeter to ensure the net drops quickly and prevents bait from escaping.
- Weight: Weighs roughly 2 kg to 5 kg (4.5 lbs to 11 lbs) dry, depending on whether it is a standard consumer or commercial-grade heavy lead version.
- Usage Tips Tangle-Free Prep: Inspect and organize the hand strap and lines completely before casting.
- Environment: Ideal for shallow coastal waters, rivers, lakes, and ponds.
